We met back in fall of 2013 working at Olive Garden together. We were just friends for a half a year before it blossomed into something more. Our love for Jurassic Park was a mutual interest we discovered and could bond over. He had all the Jurassic Park toys as a child and I have been a fan of the movies since I was a little girl. We use to joke that we would have a dinosaur-themed wedding one day, but when I did the research into it, I actually thought it was something we could really pull off.
We rode up in our boat to a sand bar on the lake by our cabin and i can see dinosaurs in the distance. As we get closer the Jurassic Park theme songs starts playing and everyone shouts “surprise happy birthday”! (my birthday was in 3 days) As I walk the sandbar admiring all the decor my boyfriend tells me the sign is wrong. He then pulls of the birthday sign which then displays a new sign asking me to marry him! He then proceeds to get down on one knee in a heart made of rose petals and proposes. The most special part was having all our immediate family there to be a part of it.
We hoped people would remember our wedding forever as being the most unique wedding they have ever been to. Our reception was designed with an elegant, jungle atmosphere that incorporated many small dinosaur touches to give it that WOW factor that truly expressed our fun side. We even had all three Jurassic park movies playing on the big screens around the reception hall throughout the whole night! We were blessed that our families were so creative and crafty that they were able to make many of the props and décor pieces.
Our wedding day was so spectacular and fun that my cheeks were still sore the next day from smiling so much! What was even more amazing was how blown away our guest were. People described our wedding as the most fun and unique wedding they have ever been too. I guess we achieved our goal! It was unreal finally seeing all our hard work come together as our vision came to life. I will forever and always brag about how amazing our wedding day was and how perfect it all went.
